If I just write the prompt, is it my work?… 69% of AI users say “generated results are my work”

In a YouAI survey, 69% of respondents said they view AI-generated output as their own work if they wrote the prompt.

At the same time, 46% said they would not disclose AI involvement, showing resistance to disclosure rules.

Still, 54% said AI use should be disclosed, highlighting a split on ownership and transparency.

The findings underscore the need for broader agreement on authorship and ethical disclosure in the age of generative AI.
