Greenworks’ MaximusZ electric riding mower has five motors and a few compromises

Greenworks has launched the MaximusZ, an 80-volt electric riding mower powered by five motors.

Its 54-inch deck, 8 mph top speed, and estimated four-acre range deliver quiet, strong performance.

A dump bed and tow hitch add utility, though the proprietary charger, slow boot-up, and scratch-prone display are notable drawbacks.

The mower shows battery-powered outdoor equipment reaching gas-like capability, while high prices and charging standards remain barriers.
