Bitget to suspend services for Japan residents... account restrictions from November 1

Bitget has stopped new sign-ups for Japan residents following warnings from Japan’s Financial Services Agency and the Kanto Local Finance Bureau.

Starting November 1, it will begin gradually restricting existing accounts tied to Japan residents.

Users who believe they were misclassified as Japan residents must complete Level 2 identity verification, including address confirmation, by that date.

Accounts not verified will be treated as Japan-resident accounts, and any remaining positions will be forcibly closed by December 31.
