Mobile batteries sent to disaster-hit areas as telecom giant signs agreement with 7 manufacturers

Eight major telecom carriers and seven mobile battery makers have signed an agreement to rapidly deliver power supplies to disaster-hit areas.

The framework will begin operating on June 1 and is designed to speed up support for evacuation shelters and people living in cars.

It aims to help keep smartphones charged, maintain communication lines, and strengthen early disaster response.

Companies involved include NTT Group, KDDI, SoftBank, Rakuten Mobile, Anker Japan, INFORICH, and others.
