Hugging Face Has a Deepfake Nudes Problem

AI Forensics says some popular Hugging Face Spaces can turn clothed photos into topless or sexualized images.

Most prompts in its tests were sexual, often targeting women and sometimes apparent children.

WIRED also found pages on the platform promoting nudify tools and models meant to sexualize public figures.

Hugging Face says it bans child sexual abuse material and nonconsensual sexual deepfakes, disputes parts of the report, and is improving safeguards.

The case underscores how mainstream AI platforms can still be used to spread abusive deepfakes and raises moderation and responsibility questions.
