Intel Charges Into AMD’s Handheld Stronghold With Purpose-Built Arc G3 Chips, Packing Up to 14 Cores and a 12-Core Xe3 GPU

Intel unveiled the Arc G3 Extreme and Arc G3, purpose-built handheld SoCs based on Panther Lake.

The chips offer up to 14 CPU cores, a 12-core Xe3 GPU, NPU support, fast connectivity, XeSS 3, and Xbox mode.

Partner handhelds are expected to start appearing in June, with demos planned for Computex 2026.

The launch is aimed squarely at AMD’s strong grip on gaming handhelds and could expand competition in the category.
