Mercadona has not raised Juan Roig's salary for three years: it prefers to quadruple loans to its suppliers

Juan Roig has kept his Mercadona CEO pay unchanged at 12 million euros for a third straight year.

Mercadona sharply increased loans to suppliers, from 41 million euros to 171 million euros, to help them adapt to the new store model.

The 2025 accounts also include a one-off 400 million euro investment in Roig Arena, which weighed on consolidated results.

The numbers highlight Mercadona’s strategy of holding top pay steady while financing suppliers and absorbing heavy transformation costs.
