Former Scottish politician snapped up GTA 5, FIFA, and more as part of $500,000 embezzlement

Former SNP chief executive Peter Murrell pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $500,000 from party funds over 12 years.

Court details say some of the stolen money was spent on luxury goods, a Jaguar SUV, and gaming items including consoles and titles like GTA 5 and FIFA.

The case adds a gaming-related angle to a major political corruption scandal involving party finances and personal spending.

Murrell is now facing sentencing after admitting the theft.
