NHK President: Distribution on Netflix is an “excellent opportunity” for overseas expansion; for localization, “we’ll ask them to handle it”

NHK has agreed with Netflix to stream six programs worldwide from June 22, including “Manpuku” and “Gunshi Kanbei.”

The partnership is set to expand to 19 titles this fiscal year, marking a major shift in NHK’s international strategy.

NHK president Inoue said Netflix’s localization services could help overcome language barriers and broaden overseas reach.
