The Xbox Ally X's Fancy Upscaling Tech Is Available to Xbox Insiders Today

Microsoft is rolling out AutoSR to Xbox and Windows Insiders on the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X.

The AI upscaling feature uses the device’s NPU at the driver level for DirectX games, with initial support limited to external displays.

Microsoft says it can deliver about a 30% performance boost at 1440p.

If it holds up, AutoSR could improve handheld gaming performance and image quality without per-game support.
