Visa processed 106 million disputes last year, now wants AI to take over

Visa processed 106 million dispute cases in 2025, a 35% increase versus 2019.

The company announced six new AI- or LLM-based tools to modernize dispute management for merchants and financial institutions.

Merchant tools include Dispute Resolution Network, Dispute Recovery Manager, and Order Insight; issuer tools include Dispute Intelligence, Dispute Doc Analyzer, and Dispute Case Manager.

Visa said most tools will roll out through 2026 to automate workflows, summarize documents, and predict outcomes.
