Final Fantasy may have just teased the director of the next mainline game

At FF14 Fan Fest in Berlin, Naoki Yoshida suggested FF7 Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi could lead a future mainline Final Fantasy.

The remark quickly fueled speculation that Hamaguchi may be in line to direct Final Fantasy 17.

The tease also hints Square Enix could be grooming Hamaguchi for a bigger role across the franchise.
