Priced at $900, the chip is being positioned more for creators and developers than for mainstream gamers.

Early reviews suggest gaming gains are only marginal versus cheaper X3D options, especially the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Ryzen 9 9850X3D.

That makes the 9950X3D2 a poor value choice for most PC gamers, despite its impressive specs.
