A Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra prototype with Nvidia’s N1X AI chip delivered mixed early results in testing.

Some GPU benchmarks pointed to performance in the RTX 3060 to RTX 4070 range, but CPU scores lagged behind Apple’s top chips.

The prototype was plagued by unstable pre-release drivers, erratic power behavior, crashes, and display glitches, making results unreliable.

Even so, the hardware was viewed positively and suggests Nvidia’s ARM-based N1X could be competitive for AI and graphics workloads once software matures.
