Full statement by the Prime Minister’s secretary regarding the ‘Sanae Token’: “I was never briefed even once”

Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi submitted a written statement from her secretary to the Lower House budget committee denying involvement in the smear-video and "Sanae Token" allegations.

The secretary said there was no request to make the video, no thank-you email, and no explanation that the token was issued as a cryptocurrency.

The move comes as lawmakers press for accountability over campaign tactics and possible crypto-related claims tied to the LDP leadership race and lower house election.
