Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Director Gets Philosophical About Physical Games

Naoki Hamaguchi says Square Enix has not finalized the release format for Final Fantasy 7 Revelation.

The company is still trying to arrange some kind of physical edition and deciding on the best SKU and platform rules.

He suggested future “physical” releases could mean boxed codes or key cards instead of traditional discs.

The comments come as Sony and Rockstar push further toward digital-only distribution, raising concerns about the future of physical games.
