Intel Emerges as America’s Only Leading-Edge Chipmaker as RAMP-C Hands the Department of War Domestic 18A Production

Intel Foundry says its RAMP-C program is complete, delivering U.S.-based leading-edge CMOS technology, design tools, and manufacturing support.

The program progressed through foundation building, customer onboarding, and prototype tape-outs, preparing customers for secure high-volume production.

Intel says the effort will help defense and commercial customers move from test chips to production on Intel 18A and Secure Enclave.

The initiative is meant to strengthen domestic semiconductor manufacturing and reduce reliance on overseas supply chains.
