Edge of Eternities was never a Star Trek test run, Magic designer says

Magic designer Gavin Verhey said Edge of Eternities and the Star Trek Universes Beyond set were developed in parallel.

He said Edge was not meant as a test run for Star Trek; the teams designed them separately.

The two sets share some space-themed DNA, but also differ in important ways.

The clarification suggests Magic’s sci-fi direction was planned independently of the Star Trek crossover.
