A new Deadlock update reworks the Urn into a more chaotic, powerful comeback engine

Valve’s latest Deadlock patch centers on major balance changes, led by an experimental Soul Urn redesign and a new tier-one Vitality item, Grit.

The Urn now requires melee pickup, is riskier to carry, can be contested on deposit, and gives the trailing team a strong defensive aura near the dropoff point.

The update also lowers base health, speeds up early map pressure, delays some lane access, and makes Midboss available from match start.

Dozens of hero, item, and map tweaks further reshape objective control, movement, healing, and early-game pacing.
