NVIDIA’s Vera CPU With 88 Olympus “Arm” Cores Outperforms AMD EPYC & Intel Xeon In First Benchmarks

Phoronix published the first benchmark results for NVIDIA’s pre-production Vera CPU, an 88-core ARM-based server chip.

Vera reportedly delivered a 63% uplift over NVIDIA Grace, a 10% edge over AMD EPYC 9575F, and a 55% lead over Intel Xeon 6980P.

The tests suggest NVIDIA’s standalone server CPU could be competitive with AMD and Intel in data centers.

Power-efficiency testing was not permitted, so the full performance-per-watt picture remains unclear.
