Italian court says Netflix must refund customers up to $576 over price hikes

A Rome court ruled Netflix must refund Italian subscribers for price hikes implemented between 2017 and January 2024.

The court said Premium subscribers who have been on the plan since 2017 are entitled to €500 and Standard subscribers to €250.

The ruling orders a reduction in current subscription prices, publication of the decision on Netflix Italia's site and newspapers, and allows for additional compensation where applicable.

Netflix said it will appeal the decision and consumer groups in other European countries have launched similar cases.
