Microsoft shipped a native Xbox 360 emulator with its new backwards-compatible releases on PC — modders quickly got 360 games running with minor tweaks

Microsoft’s PC backward-compatibility releases appear to include a native Xbox 360 emulator.

Modders found standard Xbox 360 GOD files and the bundled Xe03 emulator, then altered the container to load Xbox 360 executables directly.

Early tests have already booted several games, including Plants vs. Zombies, Steins; Gate, Fuzion Frenzy, and Midnight Club: Los Angeles, with mixed stability.

The discovery could significantly accelerate Xbox 360 and original Xbox emulation on PCs.
