Borderlands 4's new tag-team superboss borrows a killer trick from Dark Souls' Ornstein and Smough

Borderlands 4 update 1.7 arrives May 28 with a new dual raid boss fight inspired by Ornstein and Smough.

Players will face Subjugator and Thol the Invincible; when one falls, the survivor powers up for the final phase.

The patch also adds new endgame loot, including Pearlescent weapons, class mods, and a Collector shield.

A new shared-progression toggle gives Vault Hunters more control over how character progress is shared.

Gearbox says more endgame content is coming in future updates, including Story Pack 2 and later patches.
