NVIDIA RTX Spark Shows Strong Potential, But Early Prototype Leaves Plenty Of Performance On The Table

A TechPowerUp user tested an unreleased Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra prototype with NVIDIA’s N1X/RTX Spark chip.

The hardware looked promising in synthetic tests, but gaming, CUDA, and some AI workloads were held back by unstable, unfinished software.

The prototype showed GPU stuttering, crashes in certain workloads, and only minor gains from newer preview drivers.

The report suggests NVIDIA’s upcoming Arm laptop chip could be competitive, but current software is too immature to judge its real performance.
