Steam Controller puck charger nearly catches fire after contact with Pixel Watch 3 — sparks fly after the metal wristband magnetizes to the puck's pogo pins

A Steam Controller owner said the magnetic puck charger arced and heated up when a Pixel Watch 3 metal wristband touched its exposed pogo pins.

The user removed the controller in time, apparently preventing serious damage or a fire.

Valve says it is investigating the incident.

The case raises concerns about a possible safety flaw in the charger’s exposed-contact design, which may require a hardware fix.
