Ambitious gamer turns fanless Subway menu PCs into gaming rigs — passive Intel Core i3 units manage just 15 fps in GTA V and 25 fps in Minecraft

A YouTuber tested three retired Subway signage mini PCs as gaming machines after upgrading them from 4GB to 8GB of RAM.

With Intel Core i3-6100U chips and Intel HD Graphics 520, the systems could handle light games and some emulation.

GTA V managed only about 15 fps, while Minecraft reached around 25 fps, which is far from modern gaming needs.

The experiment shows how far old fanless kiosk hardware can be reused, but also how limited it is for AAA titles.
