Tesla Admits Its Robotaxis Are Being Driven Remotely

Tesla told a senator that remote operators can temporarily take direct control of its robotaxis in rare cases.

Those remote operators are based in Austin or Palo Alto and may control vehicles up to 10 mph.

Senator Ed Markey said Tesla's refusal to disclose how often takeovers occur is concerning.

Tesla said release of takeover figures would reveal trade secrets and confidential practices.
