Gemini is making it faster for distressed users to reach mental health resources

Google has redesigned Gemini’s crisis-response flow so users showing signs of suicide or self-harm can reach mental health resources more easily.

The update adds a one-touch path to help, more empathetic prompts, and persistent access to professional support links.

Google also said it will provide $30 million globally over three years to support hotlines.

The move comes amid rising scrutiny, lawsuits, and pressure on AI companies to better protect vulnerable users.
