China Slams the Door on NVIDIA’s RTX 5090 D v2, Refusing Import Permits for a GPU Built Exclusively for Its Own Market

China has reportedly blocked import permits for NVIDIA’s China-only GeForce RTX 5090 D v2, stopping the card from being sold locally.

Customs officials allegedly told logistics firms and motherboard makers that the GPU will not get processing approval or sales permits.

The move effectively cuts off NVIDIA’s most powerful China-specific gaming GPU from the market.

That could push Chinese buyers toward lower-end NVIDIA cards or domestic alternatives.
