Everything New in iOS 26.5 Beta 1

iOS 26.5 is now available to developers; it adds EU-focused changes and smaller global tweaks, but no new Siri features.

iOS 26.5 prepares Maps for ads: businesses can buy placements in search results and Suggested Places; ads may use approximate location, current search terms, or map view, and will be labeled 'ad'.

Apple re-enabled end-to-end encryption for RCS between iPhone and Android; Messages has an E2EE toggle in Settings that is enabled by default, meaning those conversations are encrypted and cannot be intercepted by third parties.

For the EU, Apple is adding interoperability work to comply with the Digital Markets Act, including Live Activity sharing in EU betas, one‑tap proximity pairing and simplified third‑party pairing, notification access for third‑party accessories (forwarding to only one device at a time, selectable per app or all apps), and Live Activities syncing to third‑party wearables.
