Google Chrome gets the long-awaited "vertical tabs," and "Reading Mode" goes full screen

Google Chrome is rolling out vertical tabs, letting users display tabs along the left edge for easier management.

Chrome is also adding a full-screen reading mode, moving beyond the old side-panel view for distraction-free reading.

Both features start rolling out to all users today.

The update should improve usability for people who keep many tabs open or read a lot of articles.
