Man sues Nintendo for $341,000 because he can't be a Pokemon Professor

An Iowa man, Kyle Lee Owens, is suing Nintendo and The Pokémon Company after being denied certification as a Pokémon Professor.

A background check reportedly found an old Illinois felony and an active warrant tied to misdemeanor charges, leading to the rejection.

Owens says the denial cost him business opportunities and is seeking $341,000 in damages plus reinstatement.

The lawsuit also argues that the companies exercise unfair control over organized play and that applicants lack meaningful appeal rights.
