Taiwan authorities arrest three on suspicion of smuggling Nvidia chips to China — operation allegedly used Japan as transshipment point before forwarding banned Supermicro servers to Hong Kong

Taiwanese prosecutors detained three suspects over alleged illegal exports of Nvidia-powered Supermicro servers to China.

Authorities seized 50 servers with falsified documents and said earlier shipments had already been successfully moved.

The route reportedly used Japan as a transit point before the goods were forwarded to Hong Kong.

It is the first known Taiwan arrest tied to the U.S. AI chip smuggling crackdown and the first to identify Japan in the route.
