Hands-on with Modos Tech 13.3-inch e-paper monitors — Dev Kit and Modos Flow preview

Modos Tech provided Tom's Hardware with a pre-built 13.3-inch Dev Kit and a new Modos Flow e-paper monitor for hands-on testing.

The Dev Kit is sold on Crowd Supply for $599 and includes a 13.3-inch RGBW e-paper panel, USB-C and Mini HDMI connectivity, frontlight, and three buttons.

The Dev Kit sample used a 41 Hz panel, runs open-source Caster firmware on a Xilinx FPGA, and supports multiple grayscale and dithering modes.

The Modos Flow is a next-generation model that adds touch and stylus compatibility and uses color e-paper displays.

Modos Tech was founded in early 2022 to promote open-source e-paper hardware and software development.
