Artemis II astronaut puts all of our iPhone moon photos to shame

Artemis II astronauts were allowed to bring smartphones onboard.

Reid Wiseman displayed a photo he said was taken on his iPhone during the lunar flyby.

Wiseman said the image came from an iPhone 17 Pro using 8x zoom and appeared to show the Chebyshev crater on the Moon’s far side.

Crew members turned off all cabin lights to improve photography as the Orion spacecraft approached the Moon.

Artemis II launched April 1 for a 10-day mission, reached 252,756 miles from Earth on April 6, completed the flyby that night, and is expected to splash down near San Diego on April 10.
