Keychron wants to bring open-source firmware to gaming mice

Keychron unveiled ZGM (Zephyr Gaming Mouse), an open-source firmware project for gaming mice built on Zephyr RTOS.

The goal is to make mouse behavior more transparent, modular, and customizable, with low-latency performance.

The design aims to support broad hardware compatibility and swappable parts like sensors, buttons, wheels, and lighting.

Code is not expected until Q1 2027, but the project could bring open-source-style flexibility to gaming mice.
