Hypervisor-based cracks are breaking Denuvo protections in hours

A new hypervisor-based cracking method is enabling pirates to bypass Denuvo protections within hours for many major PC releases.

The technique uses a custom or modified hypervisor driver to isolate Denuvo from Windows while leaving the game code unchanged.

Cracks require disabling Hyper-V and other Windows security features and can cause stability issues on older Intel CPUs.

Irdeto confirmed it is working on countermeasures that it says will not need Ring -1 access or affect user-level performance.
