GitHub fights its AI overhead as Copilot moves to usage-based billing

GitHub will switch Copilot to AI Credits on June 1, replacing Premium Request Units with token-based usage metering.

Subscription list prices stay the same, but monthly credit balances will be consumed based on how much users actually use the product.

Business and enterprise customers will get temporary extra credits during the transition to ease the shift.
