These Android devices will get AirDrop next — here’s why your phone might not

Google says AirDrop support in Quick Share is expanding to more Android phones, including select Samsung, Oppo, OnePlus, and Honor models.

The feature is already available on Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 8a, with support also rolling out to newer Galaxy foldables and flagship devices.

Compatibility depends on device hardware, especially chipset and wireless modem support, not just Android version.

That means many mid-range and lower-end Android phones may not get the ability to share directly with iPhone and Mac users.
