Ask.com Has Shut Down, Marking the Official Farewell to the Internet's Favorite Butler

Ask.com has shut down its search service and officially closed on May 1, 2026.

The move ends 25 years of the brand’s history, which began as Ask Jeeves with its butler mascot, Jeeves.

Parent company IAC said it is shifting focus to other businesses.

The closure marks the end of one of the early web’s most recognizable search names.
