Bare Bones Software has released BBEdit 16, with free upgrades for some recent BBEdit 15 buyers and paid upgrades for other licensed users.

The update includes 100+ changes, led by faster performance, more Shortcuts actions, and image-text search.

BBEdit 16 also adds project and notebook color schemes, improved AI worksheet streaming, and broader editor, Git, HTML5, and SFTP refinements.

The release aims to boost productivity through better automation, search, and internal optimizations for macOS users.
