Google Announces Wear OS 7

Google announced Wear OS 7 at I/O 2026, adding Gemini Intelligence features, Wear Widgets, Live Updates, and richer workout and media controls.

The update also introduces a Remote Output Switcher plus new APIs for app functions and task automation, aiming to make smartwatches more useful and glanceable.

A Wear OS 7 Canary Emulator is available now, with the full release planned for later this year.

The changes push Google’s wearable platform toward more AI-driven and customizable experiences for both users and developers.
