Intel launches Xeon 6+ Clearwater Forest with 288 E-cores on 18A node, teases Diamond Rapids for 2027

Intel launched Xeon 6+ Clearwater Forest, an all-E-core server CPU built on Intel 18A with up to 288 cores per socket.

The chip uses a chiplet design and adds new accelerators plus telemetry features for hyperscale and cloud workloads.

Intel also previewed Xeon 7 Diamond Rapids for 2027 on 18A-P, targeting more cores, PCIe 6.0, and higher memory bandwidth.

The roadmap signals Intel’s push to regain data center competitiveness against AMD and other rivals.
