Meta AI Support Bot Helped Hackers Hijack Instagram Accounts

Hackers manipulated Meta’s AI support bot to change the email on Instagram accounts and trigger password resets.

The flaw enabled takeovers of high-value accounts, sometimes bypassing two-factor authentication and selfie checks.

Meta patched the issue and began securing affected accounts after reports from 404 Media.
