Magic: The Gathering Addresses One Ring Tracing Controversy

Wizards of the Coast said the new alternate-art The One Ring card was overpainted from existing artwork, not independently drawn from scratch.

The company confirmed both Dan Frazier and Marta Nael will receive credit for the image.

Nael will also be compensated for the card after fans raised tracing and art-integrity concerns.

The dispute centers on one of Magic: The Gathering’s most visible and valuable cards in the upcoming The Hobbit crossover set.
