iOS 27’s new video feature could prove one of Apple’s best additions

Apple previewed Generated Subtitles for iOS 27, a new accessibility feature that automatically creates captions for videos missing them.

The feature uses on-device speech recognition and will work across Photos, Messages, and social apps on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro.

At launch, support is limited to English in the U.S. and Canada.

The update could make videos easier to watch in noisy or private settings by filling caption gaps across Apple platforms.
