Microsoft starts removing unnecessary Copilot buttons in Windows 11

Microsoft is dialing back Copilot branding across Windows 11 apps while keeping the AI features themselves.

In Notepad for Windows Insiders, the Copilot menu is being replaced with writing tools, and AI controls are moving deeper into Settings.

Microsoft is also removing Copilot entry points from apps like Snipping Tool, Photos, and Widgets.

The changes suggest the company is responding to criticism over visible Copilot promotion without dropping its AI integrations.
