Popular overseas science YouTube channel Kurzgesagt releases video titled "Everything You Know About Ninjas Is Wrong"

Kurzgesagt released an animated video debunking familiar ninja stereotypes, especially the idea of black-clad, superhuman assassins.

The video says historical ninjas were more like regional intelligence, scouting, and sabotage agents than pop-culture stealth killers.

It highlights ninja ties to Iga and Koga and places them in the context of Japanese history and warfare.

According to the video, today’s ninja image was shaped later by theater, storytelling, and postwar mythmaking.
