Google AI Mode getting deep Chrome integration on desktop, mobile

Google is rolling out deeper AI Mode integration in Chrome across desktop, Android, and iOS, starting in the US.

On desktop, the New Tab Page can open an inline AI Mode prompt, use recent tabs, upload files or images, and keep a side panel available while browsing.

On mobile, Chrome’s search bar now expands into AI Mode with access to the camera, gallery, files, and tabs.

The update makes search, browsing, and follow-up questions feel more unified and reduces tab switching; more countries are planned.
