NASA's Artemis II Crew Saw Meteorites Striking the Moon in Real Time

Artemis II crew saw meteorite impact flashes on the Moon during the lunar flyby.

The flyby was the first human trip around the Moon in more than half a century.

NASA said the crew reported six meteorite impacts on the Moon in total.

Reid Wiseman said the flashes lasted about a millisecond and looked white to bluish white.

The team also set a record for the farthest distance from Earth during the mission.
